Reflecting God through the Proverbs- Spring Bible Study

A proverb is a concentrated, catchy and practical statement designed to provide insight into life. Biblical proverbs, written by wise King Solomon and others, are designed to provide the reader with wisdom and skill for living.

“Reflecting God through the Proverbs” is the title for the series of studies taught by Southeastern president Dr. Don Hawkins during the spring semester. According to Dr. Hawkins, “The concept of wisdom as reflected in Proverbs involves developing the practical skill for living in a manner that pleases God. Thus the title of our study, ‘Reflecting God through the Proverbs’, expresses the ultimate goal of this series of studies.”

Among the topics to be covered during the semester are securing wisdom, experiencing God’s guidance, overcoming temptation, handling our finances, dealing with anger, cultivating friendships, developing diligence and resolving conflict. “As you can see from these topics, our studies will touch life in an extremely practical way,” Dr. Hawkins observed. “These classes provide an excellent means for Southeastern Bible College to serve the greater Birmingham community, and there is no charge to participate.”

Evening classes will begin Monday, January 28 at 7 p.m. and meet in classroom to 244 (entrance A). Morning classes will begin Tuesday, January 29 at 10:30 a.m., and will also meet in classroom to 244.
